1. I Focused on Low-Competition Keywords

One of the main reasons I started getting impressions this early is because I focused on keyword research from day one.

Instead of guessing what to write about, I used a free tool called Ahrefs Keyword Generator.

What this tool does is simple: you enter a broad keyword in your niche, for example, “finance” and it gives you a list of related keywords people are actually searching for.

These can be things like:

  • “financial planner”
  • “how to budget money”

Along with an estimate of how hard it is to rank for each one.

Choosing the Right Keywords

From there, I focused on keywords labeled as easy to rank for.

But I took it a step further and used another free tool called the Ahrefs Keyword Difficulty Checker to get a more accurate score.

This tool gives each keyword a number from 0 to 100:

  • 0 = very easy to rank
  • 100 = very competitive

My Strategy

Personally, I target keywords in the 0–10 difficulty range.

These are low-competition keywords, which means:

  • You have a higher chance of ranking
  • You may not even need backlinks (depending on the keyword)

This is especially important when your blog is brand new, like mine.

This is exactly the strategy I used to get my first impressions within 7 days, it’s not much, but it’s something

Here are some real results I got this week with blogging, and that can happen for you if you truly implement these strategies I shared here with you :

2. I Didn’t Overcomplicate It

Most beginners try to overcomplicate blogging.

I kept it simple.

I chose a niche I’m genuinely interested in and wrote based on what I’m actually learning and experiencing.

Instead of trying to sound like an expert, I focused on being real and relatable.

One thing I avoided was relying too much on generic AI content. People can tell when something feels forced. It’s always better to write in your own voice and share real insights.

If you’re just starting, my advice is simple:

Please, just start.

Once you begin seeing impressions and clicks, even small ones, it gives you the motivation to keep going.

There’s no big secret. It comes down to taking action, publishing your content, and getting it indexed on Google.

3. I Optimized My Articles for SEO

If you want your content to rank or even have a chance at reaching the first page SEO matters.

I made sure each article followed basic SEO practices, including:

  • Using clear headings (H2, H3)
  • Adding internal links to other posts
  • Looking at what competitors are covering
  • Including images to improve user experience

I also used a tool called RankMath, which gives your article an SEO score out of 100 and helps you optimize things like keywords, readability, and structure.

If you’re new, tools like this can really guide you in the right direction and actually give you a higher chance to rank first on Google. Definitely a great investment to start with.

This is part of the strategy I used to start getting impressions and clicks.

Also, looking at what your competitors are talking about, let’s say you choose the same keyword as your competitor and they’re talking about a certain topic, you want to do the same thing but cover things they’re not speaking about in that article, this will give you a big advantage over your competitor and give you the ability to outrank them. You just make the content better in a way.

4. What I Learned After 7 Days

The biggest thing I learned is this:

Taking action matters more than anything.

Don’t hesitate. Don’t overthink it. Just publish.

Once you start following the steps above, you’ll begin to see small results, and that momentum builds fast.

I also learned:

  • Low-competition keywords are extremely important
  • Google can index your content faster than you think
  • Consistency matters more than perfection

Make sure your site is connected to Google Search Console so your content can get indexed and tracked properly.

5. Final Thoughts
